Intensive Course

A five day conversational beginners course to help you get by when you’re on holiday. This is a fun, basic course that gives you a taste of the language with the possibility to continue to a higher level.

This course leads to Level 2

Year 1 (Beginners)

These courses are for those who are aiming to develop the ability to communicate in everyday situations, but at the same time to know some aspects of the fascinating Hispanic culture.

Speaking and listening will be the main focus of these courses with advice on pronunciation. Some grammar and written work is included if appropriate.

This course leads to Level 2

Year 2 (Lower Intermediate)

These courses are for those who have already attended a beginners’ course for at least 2 terms or have already acquired a basic knowledge of the language.

We will aim to extend and develop your confidence alongside expanding your vocabulary and grammatical awareness.

This course leads to Level 3

Year 3 (Intermediate)

This course is for those who have completed 2 years at an Adult Education level, similar, or already have the knowledge required and wish to continue to improve their fluency, confidence, vocabulary, and a range of tenses.

Speaking and listening will be the main focus of this course.

This course leads to Level 4

Years 4 & 5 (Conversational Upper Intermediate)

This course is for those who have completed 3 years at an Adult Education level, similar, or already have the knowledge required and wish to continue to improve their fluency using conversation and general revision of the advanced grammatical structures, idioms and cross-culture.

Conversation and general revision will be the main focus of this course with advice on idiomatic expressions and pronunciation.

This course leads to Advanced

Advanced (Conversational Spanish)

This course looks at issues in contemporary society in Spanish-speaking countries. It uses authentic sources to increase students’ ability to communicate ideas and opinions. The course will be structured around the students’ interests using a variety of media.

The main focus of this course is to offer students opportunities to develop their ability to communicate ideas and opinions in speech, increase their understanding and knowledge of the Hispanic culture.
